Versailles Menu

In 1898 the Quai d’Orsay, a new railway station designed by famed architect Victor Laloux, opened in the 7th arondissemnet of Paris in the suburb of Versailles across from the Louvre and Eiffel Tower.  Set on the left bank of the Seine, the elegant glass and steel structure’s arched atrium soared 65 feet high and was considered the most handsome railway station in Paris.  The Quai d’Orsay luxury hotel, which fronted the railway station and its sumptuous restaurant, was host to thousands of leisure travelers in addition to associations, business groups and political parties for banquets and meetings. 

Today, at the Inn at Chateau Élan, the splendor of that era and its legendary Quai d’Orsay railway station, hotel and dining room with its inviting hospitality, service and sumptuous dining resonates at Versailles Restaurant.  No attempt is made to equate the grandeur of the former Quai d Orsay or it’s significance as a national historical monument with Versailles Restaurant.  However, the similar architectural styles, the soaring glass arched ceiling and the gracious feeling of well being while dining on contemporary international cuisine paired with fine wines we hope will evoke images of a wonderful Parisian dining experience of the early 20th century.  Bon Appetit!
